The Bible never states that a Christian cannot smoke. A Christian is free to do whatever he wants.
However, the freedom that Christ gave us when He died on the cross is to live a holy life dedicated to God.
The apostle Paul says that we should not give our bodies to sin, but use our bodies as sacrifices in praise of God.
Here is why we should not smoke or practice any other addiction.
The logic is that a person who smokes is controlled by the addiction and everything that steals a person from God becomes a sin.
A Christian cannot smoke because it will destroy the temple of the Holy Spirit.
He cannot smoke because it is an addiction and every addiction steals you from God.
A Christian cannot smoke because nicotine will dominate you and be the ruler of your emotions. For example, a person who is very nervous and has the habit of smoking, the first thing he will do is light a cigarette.

First of all, I want to share that when the Holy Spirit begins to control the life of a believer, one of His works is to remove everything that is useless and brings harm to the body.
Although there is a very big difference between the body and where the Spirit actually dwells. For example, Paul in the letter to the Thessalonians describes that man is body, soul and spirit.
In other words, man is tripartite, yet one.
Jesus said: God is Spirit and all those who wish to worship God must worship in spirit and in truth.
If God is Spirit, how did God unite the church and Himself?
The point is that the Spirit of God dwells in the spirit of man. Therefore, when a man commits sin after having accepted faith in Christ, he still has the Spirit dwelling in him.
After all, the Bible mentions that the Spirit is like a doorkeeper who only lets the shepherd of the sheep enter through this door. This is the gateway to the most holy place – he guards that environment with extreme zeal.
It would be like those Cherubim with drawn swords to guard the path of life.
What does this have to do with the act of a Christian smoking?
It has everything to do with it, because when a believer commits a type of sin in the body, he will answer to Christ on the great day.
The Bible says that the believer who seeks to destroy his own body is foolish and will have to pay his debts to God. Furthermore, smoking causes several diseases that lead to death and weakening of the body.

A certain woman had a very serious health problem and had a lot of money. That is – millions and millions, she spent all her money to seek help and stop a certain hemorrhage.
You remember the story, right? It’s the story of the woman with the issue of blood – she had been hemorrhaging for 12 years. One day, she went to meet Jesus and touched his cloak and was instantly healed.
The argument in the Bible is not that Jesus healed that woman, but rather that she was healed because of her great faith.
The issue is that the Bible classifies blood as life. That woman was bleeding, that is, she was slowly fading away. When she touched Jesus, she was healed. Virtue came out of Jesus and she was healed. The word addiction is the absence of virtue. In other words, if a person is addicted it is because he lacks virtue. And on the contrary, a person who is virtuous is weakened by vices.
Therefore, a Christian cannot smoke and this practice is not common among them. If a Christian thinks about smoking it is because he lacks closeness to Jesus and this should be seen as a red alert.
